Overview
I was tasked with developing a local 826 education / tutoring store for the state of New Orleans. Leaning into the scope of the city’s mysticism with a sweet exterior by introducing the story of MaMa Nola’s! A learning education center for tutoring and writing where kids can fall into the mystical charm and uncover the magic of fundemental reading.

My goal for MaMa Nola’s was to translate the rich culture of New Orleans into a concept that was palpable for children. The resulting idea centers on its owner, Ms. Nola! A master baker whose culinary genius is a clever cover for her true, mystical nature. To the world, she runs a simple bakery, but in reality, her recipes are a form of enchantment, and she knows how to cast a delicious spell or two. Developing her character was very fun, as she is designed to be a captivating figure whom children can easily understand and connect with.
